Lied to/misrepresentation at presentation

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We went to their presentation in Cocoa Beach about 3 years ago. A man named John(cant remember his last name) did the presentation. I had a certain bond with him because he was a veteran and so am I. I trusted him, bad idea. I said" why should I join this when I am a member of the American Legion and get houses and condos all over the world for $350 a week?" He replied that I could forget about the Veterans Vacations program. That was a failed program and it was going away. Lies. That program still exists and is better than ever. We bought in at $5644 which I am still wondering where the other$644 came from because it was supposed to be $5000 even. First and only time we used it was a disaster. Went to the Westgate Palace in Orlando. It was not what they told us it would be. They said it had twin beds. They were singles. The legs were broken on the beds. They Hotel staff was rude and unhelpful. There were several issues with the room. We called Legacy and all they did was argue that we agreed to whatever was there. When I got home I called repeatedly to John over 3 days that I was taken and I wanted my money back. I was told that it was too late and the 3 day right of recession had expired about 2 months prior so too bad. Then he wouldn't take my phone calls anymore. Bottom line is this is a bad deal. Stay away. The people that were promoting it weren't even Legacy. So when I asked about my "free" plane tickets which weren't free, I was told I had to mail away for those. Free nights stays which were not free same deal. 3 years later I am getting ready to take them to the Florida States Attorneys office.

Legacy Destinations

On Saturday, May 25th 2013 we attended a presentation on Legacy Destinations and signed up for the program. Saturday night I called to ask questions and Greg Bernstein said he would call me on Monday, but no call was ever received. I cancelled and sent back the notebook folder on Monday May 27th with postmark receipt obtained. I also contacted my credit card company to notify them of this. Now, July 1st Legacy has still not credited my credit card account and has not responded to my numerous calls. All calls go only to voicemail. My credit card company is now disputing this charge. Buyer beware!

Lure to Sales Presentation

We were invited to sales presentation (June 28, 2013) with the offer of "gift" airline voucher and 2-night hotel stay. The invitation does not disclose the name of the company or any information other than where to show up for presentation. We were treated well at the facility, the presentation was pleasant, we were wooed with statements that we had been referred by "someone you know, recommending you for this exclusive membership offer", but they don't tell you who that person is (hint: it's no one). So, no real complaints about the time we spend there, but the complaint comes when you receive the promised "gift". It is really only an "offer" to buy plane voucher, etc. First you have to pay $4.95 plus the cost of cashier's check or money order just to "register" your offer. Then you must pay $50 plus cost of another cashier's check or money order for the ticket(plus taxes and fees) with all kinds of limits and restrictions based on dates, their "promotions inventory, participating airports...reserves the right to offer alternate departure date and/or destination." The two night stay voucher is subject to a three-night minimum stay, so you must pay for at least one night at regular price. So really this is nothing but an offer to purchase a deal for limited air and hotel promotion. We weren't interested, but lost nothing but our time, and gained some experience.

This firm is now changed name to Signature Escapes. They took $1000"s from me tonight.

Get home and no availability at any hotels.

They are very nice but rough looking character

Thanks for the detailed info on the 'free' promotion. I figured there would be some restrictions, but good to know the details.

I have an invitation to attend with a promise of a 'free cruise and airfare'.

Based on your comments I will not attend. Thanks again.

Legacy destinations

My wife and I received a letter in the mail that looked like a check. She actually that it was a check (for $1398.00). I knew better and after convincing her it was fake, she called the number on the letter. In order to get this “free gift,” we were instructed to attend a 90 minute presentation which we were told was not a sales presentation.

Something smelt fishy, but my wife convinced me to go and waste our Saturday afternoon, after all it is only 90 minutes of my life for a potential reward. We made the 20 minute drive to a Hilton hotel near the Ft. Lauderdale airport and paid the parking fees the hotel charged us.

After the 2 hour (not 90 minutes) presentation in a freezing cold room I was ready to get our “free gift” and go. During the presentation they promised some unbelievable prices so of course I was a bit skeptical. After telling the salesman that I would not be handing over my credit card to pay their over 10k price tag, all of a sudden the price went down. Then it went down again, and again. Finally somehow I was given the price of $2500 for the same exact program they showed me during the presentation. Now why didn't they just show me that to begin with?!

After telling the salesman Rodger Williams who apparently is the CEO no for the 20th time, the insults started to come. Not only did he insult me, he constantly made inappropriate sexual remarks towards my wife. After a half hour of this, I was pissed, my wife and I started to walk out. We were then told we had to be there to get our “free gifts.” So we came back in the room to get the gift and now all of a sudden we could do a 2 year trial instead for $1500. I signed the dotted line because my wife wanted to do so. It turned out it actually cost $2149, which again I was uncomfortable with spending here, but to make the wife happy I did.

After another half hour in paper work signing our life away, we had spent a total of 3 hours there. Finally we got the prize we were promised for coming in. This is where I was real pissed. The gifts have a “registration fee” of $100 on top of all the taxes and who knows what else. We are expected to blindly send another $100 out just to see our options. This smells more and more like a scam each minute we spend at the place.

We get home and start trying to do some research and see nothing good out on the internet about this company, but we figured you can't always take what people on the internet say as fact. So we got our member info and called the 1-800 number. They told us we had to wait till after we have given up our 3 days rite of rescission (the time which the law allows you to cancel) to use the service were just purchased. Are you counting the red flags here? Don't be as *** as I was!

Finally were able to get online to book a trip and everything that we could book through this so called “wholesale travel” company, we could book on our own FOR LESS! That's right you can go to the same exact places through any travel site for less than what they are charging! Prices were nothing close to what they had showed us during the presentation. After calling several times to try to get my money back, eventually my phone number was blocked.

Do not let these criminals scam you like they scammed me! Rodger Williams is the CEO and Rob Crawford is the owner. They are working out of the Hilton on Griffen road near the FT. Lauderdale airport. They had also informed us that they just opened another office to scam more people in Jacksonville, They seem to be on the move again with a new office located out of a hotel Selling Legacy destinations Lies scam and ripoffs at a hotel in Baton Rouge Louisiana . Don't fall for their lies and lose out on thousands like I did, cancel while you still can!

Legacies destinations travel scam

Against our better Judgement my Wife and I attended a seminar at a local Marriot hotel with the promise of free flights and lodging to the value of almost $1400.00. A seminar which we were told (over the phone) would only be an hour ended up occupying our saturday from 9am to 2:30pm. During the seminar we are told that as a member of Legacy destinations we are guarranteed to the lowest prices for airfare and accomodation anywhere in the world. if we find prices lower than Legacy offer us that they will then beat those prices by 10% A membership for life! As I have several international and national business trips coming up soon and in addition our family plans to travel this year we pay close attention to the facts being stated. We ask all the pertinent questions and find the answers very encouraging. One of those "if it sounds to good to be true then it ussually is" situations. Despite our gut reaction, we ask more questions and based on that decide to take a chance. My wife and decide to go "all in" at over $8000.00 membership for us and our immediate family. I choose to open a new credit card to finance the amount, I should have zero problem as my credit is well over 800 points. One of their reps returns half an hour later and tells me my application has been denied, I find this most odd. We decide to split the amount on 2 of our existing credit cards and begin the process. After 15 minutes my thoughts of my declined credit app and the overall expense cause me to rethink the whole thing and we opt to bow out. We Inform the rep who then calls in the big guns and coral us. The negotiation begins. Our new offer is a buy back of the free $1400.00 credit originally offered to get us there and less free weeks in Timeshare facilities. Our payable amount for this about $3700.00. We decide to go for it. We are told that we have a grace period of 3 days once our membership has been processed to bow out of the whole deal. My wife and i figure this will give us a chance tro test the theory by doing our own price and availablility searches online. We get confirmation of our membership, we begin our testing during our 3 day grace period. Our findings are alarming. Not only do we find way cheaper offers online for fights and accomodation but when we call the Legacy reservation agent to aquire their availability and prices we find that they do not have accomodation in the 3 seperate locations we are interested in. The reservation agent gives us a 1800 number to call corporate, an automated service. We get a message from a Mr Greg Bernstein asking us if he can help us. my wife deals with him and he promises us he will make us happy. We tell him our existing concerns and he tells us we spoke to him in time to cancel our membership and get a refund. He asks us to wait a few days to give him time to find us what we are looking for. That was over two weeks ago and nothing from him yet. I have tried calling him several times, I have left several messages. I have also called the 1800 number for corporate and left messages. ZERO response! In addition we found it rather odd that Mr.Bernstein has a Yahoo email address??? Surely he would have a legacy email address? Always listen to your gut, it never lies. Conmen on the other hand have no problem as the truth is a matter of perspective! In addition to all this Last week I recieve a credit card in the mail. The credit card I supposedly did not qualify for?? Misspelled name to boot. I contacted the CC company and cancelled it. A dip in my credit score the result. My question is WTF. What happened here, another lie? I am at a loss. All we want is out, our money back and to be able to warn all those out there that this company which claims to be a A+ rated BBB business is not even Better Business Bureau accredited. One lie after the next Buyer be warned!!
